Obvious signs of rat infestation include 3-5mm rod shaped droppings, holes in walls and floorboards, footprints followed by dragged tail marks and smears left on walls by contact with dirty rat fur. Obviously, sightings of live and dead rats are evident signs of an infestation too while some people may also be able to detect a musty smell in their property - characteristic of rodent habitation.
When called, we will conduct an initial appraisal of the severity and scale of your rat problem before implementing a rodent-control programme composed of trapping, gassing and poison baiting. We follow where possible the code of good practice as set out by The Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use.
Mice pose various perils to human proprietors, ranging from fires caused by the rodents gnawing through electric cables to mice contaminating household surfaces with the likes of meningitis and salmonella. Greenwich Rodent Control disposes of mice through a number of established methods, but focuses predominantly on the deployment of traps and poison bait. To maximize effectiveness, we place traps about 2 metres apart and in areas where the mice are known to be moving (as opposed to a single location).
Our frequent observations reveal that mice tend to move along the base of walls, so we usually position traps with the baited or treadle end against a wall, capturing mice across the routes they frequent.
Grey Squirrels will readily inhabit lofts, attics and roof spaces as well as outbuildings. Signs of their presence will be incessant scratching noises as well as droppings. One of our qualified technicians will be able to discern these droppings from those of rats and mice.
While not thought to carry human diseases, squirrels can administer a painful bite when frightened and pass fleas onto domestic animals. If you find that squirrels are residing in your attic or elsewhere in your property, don't hesitate to call Greenwich Rodent Control for a speedy solution.
